Back in Business

Nearly 3 years ago to the day, Boss was served with a takedown notice threatening a legal fight over the alleged copyright infringement of Hugo Boss’ intellectual property.

We quickly realized this targeted attack was meritless and got to work trying to convince Hugo Boss’ stateside counsel that their claims were garbage. When they told us to pound sand, we decided to fight fire with fire and filed a federal lawsuit against them. After letting the lawfare play out for an additional two years, we received an unsolicited message from a great woman who was Hugo’s head of legal and IP. Her and I had very productive conversations and hammered out a deal in less than 10 minutes. We agreed on terms that basically amounted to us dropping our suit, being allowed to conduct business as usual, and walking away with newfound mutual respect for each other’s brands.

The moral of the story is simple: lawyers are expensive. Litigation sucks. Sometimes it’s better to be kind than right-but not when livelihoods are on the line. Good guys win every once in a while. Today is our day.

To celebrate the W, I wanted to share something special. The original tee - the first silkscreen we ran in summer 2018. Same fabric. Same stitch count. The shirt that put us on the map (and on Hugo’s radar).

This week, and while a very limited supply lasts, any ammo purchase gets you a free reprint of the OG tee.

As always, thank you for your loyalty and support. The past eight years have been one hell of an adventure-and here’s to another 80.

- Brandon
