CuProX vs. Premium Steel : Same Shot Size. Different Story.

CuProX vs. Premium Steel : Same Shot Size. Different Story.

More independent test results are flooding in.

George Konetes of The New Hunter’s Guide recently ran a side-by-side test comparing Boss Warchief CuProXTM to a leading premium steel load many of you will recognize.

We’ve known George for several years. He does not accept free product for testing and calls everything exactly as he sees it. More often than not, Boss comes out ahead
in his tests, not because of any relationship, but because the performance holds up, even when less-than-optimal chokes are used.

Before you watch the video, here’s why CuProX keeps beating steel in these head-to-heads.

The first thing people say is: “Copper isn’t that much denser than steel.”

They’re right. The density advantage is about 14%.

But that 14% does three things better than steel of the same size:

1. The pellet weighs more.
2. It slows down less as it flies, both from the extra mass and from the low-drag TurbuFlow surface texture.
3. It is traveling faster at every distance than the steel pellet. As distance increases,
the gap between them widens.

George’s data lines up with what we’ve measured.

At 50 yards, CuProX #3s penetrated 31% deeper than steel #3s in ballistic gel. That deeper penetration corresponds to roughly 40% more kinetic energy.

Of that energy advantage, about 75% comes from copper’s higher density and mass. The remaining 25% comes from the TurbuFlow surface treatment.

A seemingly modest 14% density advantage, combined with the patent-pending TurbuFlow finish, turns into a 40% energy advantage at 50 yards, and the gap grows beyond that.

All the lab testing in the world doesn't even compare to what Boss shooters are seeing in the field. When we say we under promise and over deliver, we mean and do exactly that.

Hats off to George for the honest testing. Watch the video and see how Boss stacks up.
