Love SxS sidelocks. I reluctantly transitioned to 3" steel and a BSS with advent of non-toxics, but itched to get the sidelocks out of the safe. Solution found. Boss puts ducks down like nobody's business with older fixed chokes and destroys late season pheasants like the hammer of Thor, I'm kicking myself. Divers that used to take a multiple shots to put down are now consistently dead in the air. My younger shell-spitter brothers in layout used to give my 2-3/4" SxS jaundiced looks. No more. They've converted to Boss after my givng them a handfull tp try. Boss Bismuth = DOA divers, whether bluebills, redheads, longtails, or big bodied scoters. Canada Geese and western Sandhill Cranes are back at ranges that resurrect the days before non-toxics. To us old guys, Boss looked expensive - until I realized that I finished an entire season with one bag, lost no lost cripples, and I would have easily been into my second or third flat of 3" steel. This season's order is already in.

I used these shells and knocked down everything from early-season teal to late-season mallards. I seemed to have fewer cripples. I really noticed the difference however in late-season Goldeneyes. In years past, when I harvested Goldeneye when shooting steel shot, I would always find steel shot in the ducks breasts. Not so with Boss. The bismuth passes through the dense breast. These shells have excellent knock down and killing power. I definitely recommend them!

The bismuth helped me put more ducks on the water. Love the shells and the quick shipping!

First time using the Boss Shells, and they drop birds dead. I have used them on a marsh hunt and dropped them dead.

After trying other Bismuth loads I have determined that the Boss 2-3/4” 5’s are the bomb in my Browning Auto 5’s. I have found that they pattern incredibly well in factory full chokes at 40 yards. I have tried them in 3 different guns with the same results. Absolutely crushes birds. I will finish my waterfowl career using these. Thanks to Boss for making vintage guns viable in the duck woods again!

I’ve been on the fence about buying these shells but finally took the leap. All I can says is I wish I would have done it earlier. I’ve used them on late season pheasants and ducks. Outstanding knockdown power and great patterns out of my SX4. I can’t recommend these any higher. Also excellent service and fast shipping. I’ll be team Boss from now on.

I'll simply say from the get go, I'll be buying more of these. I' am an older duck hunter who used to use lead and have a lead issue with many of the modern steel shot loads with so many speed variations. I over came this with bismuth when it came out but didn't like the deformation issue. I tried this Boss 2 3/4 #5 load and have dropped several ducks that others claimed they tagged, and at cleaning, I have been able to rub these copper plated bismuth #5 pellet's in their faces; several said they will also be trying Boss soon and we'll see who is still dropping ducks.

I began hunting waterfowl 50 years ago with a 20 gauge loaded with #4 or #6 lead. As time has moved on I ended up shooting 12 gauge steel #3 at 1635fps, trying to get back the knock down power of lead. I found the faster steel loads did not pattern as well as the slower (1300--1450fps) loads. So, after researching and patterning my shotgun I decided to give BOSS 12 Gauge 2 3/4 #5 a shot. Wow, what a difference it made. The ducks were falling without the need of a follow-up shot. Now I am not certain what to do with my two+ cases of steel shot shells, as I no longer want to shoot them...

I was impressed by the reviews, so I ordered a case of 2.75-inch #5s. Ordering was easy, and shipping was fast. I can't wait to try them on ducks and pheasants next fall.

First time using Boss shells. Only got out once since purchasing but have never seen a duck fold like that. Very pleased. These are the only shells I’ll use from now on
