Bought these as they were recommended to me for ducks. Today we were waiting for teal when my 12 year old begins to crush doves at some longer distance. The pattern is unbelievable out of these and he has the utmost confidence in his load and gun. I’m positive that these will handle everything from doves to geese. Definitely will not be the last time we use these or the #4 Stingers. I will be a customer for life and so will my son.

I am one of the owners of Bucket List Lodge in Saskatchewan Canada. We specialize in guided Waterfowl, Whitetail deer and Black bear hunts. For our Waterfowl season the only shotgun shells we use are Boss!! Hands down the best on the market! We love them, our clients love them, it’s simply amazing technology. We have very few cripples with these shells. When you hit that bird, it’s lights out. As an outfitter we take great pride in making sure the game that is taken is harvested in the most ethical way possible and Boss helps make that happen with quick clean kills. We use the 20 gauge3” 3/5’s the 12 gauge2 3/4” 3/5’s and the 16 gauge 2 3/4” 5’s. All amazing! Thanks to Boss for making an amazing product that we are damn proud to use.

My buddy threw the Shorty 5, 2 3/4 at me one morning on a late season honker hunt over an ice eater pond. I watched him triple on some of our large Canadas here in MN and I was amazed. I hadn't seen shot hit a honker that hard from other shells that I've shot for the previous 20-some years (and I've shot a lot of different ones). I eventually saw the same thing happen looking down my barrel. Devastating on birds. And that's what's all about. I've gunned this all over the Midwest and Canada for the last 3+ years and have not been let down. Shorty 5's all day - Big honkers, lessers, snows and every duck that I've come across.

The BOSS 2-3/4 #5's are my choice for back peddling mallards to specklebelly geese. These loads flat out perform, it's the closest thing to lead I've shot.

Since the intro of BOSS, the “Shorty” #5 has been my go to shell without question! I have killed ducks and mostly geese with this shell from ND to TX and back throughout the Midwest. Most of my hunting occurs in the cold northern Wisconsin fields where I hammer hundreds of big bullies each year and use this shell from September 1 til late December when the season closes. The results of this shell still impress me as to how hard they crush birds and the pattern consistency in a 2 3/4” shell. It’s simply a staple to have in any blind!

The 2-3/4” ounce-and-a-quarter number 5s are my absolute go-to for ducks. Anywhere. Have shot this round on 4 continents. Even as compared to legal lead rounds, foreign guide-staff notices improved duck killing performance when i swap to this Boss round. Have effectively killed Sandhill cranes and geese of all sizes with 5s, but think this round is most ideal for ducks in any decoying situation. It’s like being a kid again in the good old days when every gun in the cabinet was chambered for 2-3/4-inches and our only option was lead. Only better because it’s not harmful to the environment.

Teal opener is upon us and the rave about boss has spread faster than the corona. All that’s left to do is put them to the test. Did a lot of research, got my hands on some and patterned it with my 12g SBEIII with a Carlson cremator. So far I’m impressed. Shipping wasn’t too shabby either. Now it’s time to put them on the birds and see. Looking forward to it.
Note From Store Owner: Let us know how you like them and good luck this fall.
