I had to back off the mag for teal season, just too harsh. Great for big ducks including geese. i will say Im using a Super Black Eagle 3 with a Briley custom job and choke. I have had more jams this year than any other I remember. I clean and lube after each weekend, running about 25-30 shells through it. Very please with ammo though, longer more accurat shots with fewer cripples.

I have been closely following the “evolution” of Boss waterfowl shells, given the recent massive shift from Bismuth.
I did a lot of research during the off season and was prepared to buy some Warchief shells when the Bismuth change prevented that.
I have just bought a case of the new copper 20 ga shells (3/5), and look forward to trying them vs the top Tungsten and Bismuth alternatives I purchased before Boss released their new copper shot.
Can’t wait to see Boss release a copper Warchief option. From what I’ve seen, that will come out around mid year next year.

Bought the #5 and all our shots were at least 40 yards. Certainly knocks them down as I suspect the patterns are very good. I was using a light modified choke and hit just about everything I pointed at. However the one shot kills were disappointing compared to 3/5 bismuth. I can only assume this is my fault as I should have been using #4 or larger basded on range. I did swith to 3/5 warchief the last day of a 4 day hunt and the results were much better. I could have been using too small of shot or too open a choke. We did harvest a lot of ducks, but I wouldn't buy #5s for the same situation again. For reference we were shooting a mix of mallard and woodies.

Pattern tested #7 shot at 20 yds and 40 yds with 3 different chokes. Pattern sizes, uniformity, and number of pellets were approximately the same as 1 oz of #4 lead shot.

Patterns great and use 5’s on ducks -2’s on geese. Heavy hitter and we’ll worth the money. Only negative I’ve had are 2 misfires with dented primer and gun didn’t go off. Missed out on a duck and volley on geese over decoy’s. Called boss and said it must be dirty firing pin. Gun was brand new Beretta a400 extreme plus and has fired/cycled every other brand of shell out there. Must have been a bad lot but still think highly enough of quality she’ll to keep purchasing. Other than tungsten, these shells have best stopping power out there for reasonable price.

My shirts are both marked 100% cotton but are big enough for me. Comfortable, and good looking bring questions from the gym to restaurants. "What's a Boss?", cool " your dog is named Boss?" awesome! What's Biz or bismuth?
Sometimes it's nice being the "old guy" - "well remember when we could hunt with lead?"

Love the shotshells. They pattern nicely, hit hard and run flawlessly in my new production A5 (I’ve had issues with other shotshells. Even with 1oz game loads)
Two dislikes:
Can you please package them in boxes with a label like civilized human beings (after a few miles in upland country, the writing started to wear off)
It would be nice if you sold them in a case of 250 like everyone else does.

Took a case of #5s on my last out of state hunt and shot nearly the whole case. Inside 40 yards ducks did not stand a chance. Chose #5s as we were shooting teal all the way up to geese. Has a little more recoil but controllable. Outside 40yards I didn’t see any advantage as I still had some cripples but that’s expected at a distance that far. A little expensive to use on everyday hunts, but will buy another case for my out of state hunts.

Have not had a chance to shoot these yet but as a long time boss shell buyer of multiple gauges I figured I would leave a review from just the unboxing .
Shipping - awesome and as always it was crazy fast .
Shells - all were in good condition with tight crimps , my only complaint is the new nickel heads on the shells. I prefer the taller brass head . I am fully aware of the function and purpose of the head length going all the way back to paper but still prefer the taller version .
She'll pouch - I have a stack of these and the one I received with this last bulk order is not even in contention with the others . Probably not something I would ever use , especially with shells that are not water sealed. Disappointing quality on that .
Other than that I am sure these #1 loads will be a train wreck on the snow geese !
